To contribute to our common international ESG Strategy, we set ourselves the goal of reaching net carbon neutrality by 2030 by switching to energy from renewable sources.<br><br>At A1 in Croatia, we continuously pursue our goals and applied for an EU funding instrument called LIFE programme. Its objective is to implement, update and develop EU environment and climate policies and legislation by co-financing projects with European benefit.<br>\u00a0<br>MOREOVER, WE WERE SUCCESSFUL!<\/p>\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\n\n<div\n\tclass=\"wrapper wrapper__bg-color--white  wrapper__spacing-bottom-large--40       wrapper__border-color-large--primary wrapper__border-size-large--none\"\n\t>\n\n\t\n\t\t\t<div class=\"wrapper__container wrapper__container-width-large--default wrapper__gutter-desktop--default wrapper__gutter-tablet--small\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"wrapper__inner wrapper__width-large--12\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"image-wrap block-image__image-wrap\" data-align=\"center center\">\n\n\t\t\t<picture class=\"image image__picture\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<img\n\t\t\t\tsrc=\"https:\/\/esg.a1.group\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/05\/MAUF02689.jpeg\"\n\t\t\t\tclass=\"image  image__rounded-corners--none block-image__image\"\n\t\t\t\talt=\"\"\n\t\t\t\/>\n\t\t<\/picture>\n\t\n\t<\/div>\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\n\n<div\n\tclass=\"wrapper wrapper__bg-color--white  wrapper__spacing-bottom-large--100       wrapper__border-color-large--primary wrapper__border-size-large--none\"\n\t>\n\n\t\n\t\t\t<div class=\"wrapper__container wrapper__container-width-large--default wrapper__gutter-desktop--default wrapper__gutter-tablet--small\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"wrapper__inner wrapper__width-large--8 wrapper__offset-large--2\">\n\t\t\t\t<p class=\"paragraph paragraph__color--black paragraph__size--default paragraph__align--left paragraph__font-family--sans block-paragraph__paragraph\">\n\tOur team of eight experts is presenting the \u201eLIFE 4 Green Broadband\u201c:<br><br><strong>Nevenka (Project Coordinator LIFE Programme) explains:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00bbOur project LIFE 4 Green Broadband is focused on energy saving and reduction of CO<sub>2\u00a0<\/sub>emission in our network with the implementation of free cooling solutions and using renewable sources, i.e. solar energy. This will reduce the energy consumption by 1.7 million kWh per year and reduce CO<sub>2\u00a0<\/sub>emissions by over 400 tons annually.\u00ab The total value of the investment is around EUR 2.2 million, of which the EU finances 55%, i.e. \u20ac 1.2 million, and we have the consent of the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund on the potential co-financing of the project for additional 200,000 Euro. This project perfectly fits into the green policy of our company.<br>\u00bbOn the one hand, we have entered our supplier\u2019s green energy programme that ensures the production of our year-round amount of energy exclusively from renewable sources, and on the other hand, with the LIFE project, we have started using such sources on our mobile stations\u00ab \u2013\u00a0<strong>explained Tomislav, project manager for LIFE programme.<\/strong><br><br><strong><strong>Iva (Corporate Communications):<\/strong><\/strong> Although the telecom industry is not a big polluter, we are a big consumer of electricity and that is why we are thinking about all ways how we can reduce our carbon footprint.
