Safer Internet Day 2025: Together for a better Internet!

For years, the safer internet day has been a global day of focus on how to make the world wide web a safer place – especially for children and young adults. On February 11, it was celebrated around the world under the motto of “Together for a better Internet”. A1 also contributes with local initiatives in its various markets and takes responsibility for building awareness and paving the way for a better internet for all of us.

On February 13, for example, the conference “Growing up in the digital world” was held at the A1 headquarters in Vienna. To mark this year’s Safer Internet Day, the EU initiative Saferinternet.at discussed digital trends and challenges in the lives of young people in front of an expert audience. The event impressed with exciting presentations, lively discussions and plenty of room for personal exchange.

This included leaflets with infos on child safety online and their distribution online and in orphanages as well as boarding schools. Additionally: A “safety & security” landing page update at A1.by and a partnership with “Belta” for a series of video on cybersecurity with experts from A1 sharing safety tips. Moreover, a PR campaign with media in bloggers, a targeted campaign via SMS & My A1 and a digital-campaign in social media were conducted.

A1 Croatia launched the BoljiOnline Bot. This is an AI based chatbot available for everyone to provide anonymously and verified advice on online safety. Panel discussions with experts and influencers were held, focusing on safety topics. A press conference addressed different stakeholders and raised awareness for these issues. An online quiz in three cities with three schools completed the initiatives.

A1 Macedonia promoted the “Click Safely” Day with a social media campaign and media activities. More than 2,000 children participated in this successful campaign.
