ESG Ratings

The A1 Group has its sustainable activities assessed annually by rating agencies and is listed in the most important sustainability indices. The results confirm that the Group is on the right track to take on a pioneering sustainability role in the information and communications technologies sector.

Ratings

The A1 Group has been participating in the CDP assessment since 2010. In 2023, the A1 Group is part of the CDP Climate A List for the second (consecutive) time, acknowledged for its corporate transparency and action on climate change. The A1 Group was also awarded an A- by the CDP’s Supplier Engagement Rating.

Sustainalytics, a Morningstar company, is a leading independent global ESG and corporate governance rating agency. The A1 Group has its performance evaluated by the agency every year. In 2024, with a score of 13.5, the A1 Group is ranked as Low Risk.

The A1 Group has maintained its Prime Status for corporate responsibility performance, currently holding a B- rating from ISS ESG.

In 2023, the A1 Group participated in the EcoVadis Sustainability Rating and was awarded the silver medal. The EcoVadis rating covers a broad range of non-financial indicators in Environmental, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement.

Indices

The A1 Group share has been listed in the FTSE4Good index series since 2001. The index contains companies that demonstrate convincing ESG practices.

The A1 Group was included in the Austrian sustainability index VÖNIX in 2005. The index contains listed Austrian companies that are leaders in social and environmental performance.

ISO & EMAS Certificates

The operating countries of the A1 Group have been awarded various certificates in a wide range of areas. This testifies to the Group’s efforts to comply with country-specific guidelines in addition to legal requirements. The Group is primarily certified with various ISO certifications, e.g. in the areas of customers, environmental management systems, compliance management systems, data protection, and information security.

ISO 9001
To offer its customers the highest quality, the companies A1 Austria, A1 Bulgaria, A1 Croatia, A1 Belarus, and A1 North Macedonia are regularly certified according to ISO 9001. This ensures that the companies also satisfy international standards in terms of their network management system.

ISO 14001
The whole A1 Group is certified to ISO 14001, which attests that the management system of the organization has been audited and found to be in accordance with the requirements of the management system standards. The certificate maps out a framework that an organization can follow to set up an effective environmental management system. It provides assurance to company management, employees, and external stakeholders that environmental impact is being measured and improved.

ISO 50001
A1 Austria is certified to ISO 50001 (Energy Management System). This certificate demonstrates that the company is conserving resources and improving the bottom line through efficient energy management.

EMAS
A1 Austria and A1 Slovenia have been successfully audited in accordance with the requirements of the EMAS Regulation. This is an audit scheme developed by the European Commission for different types of organizations to evaluate and improve their environmental performance.

ISO 27001
All subsidiaries of the A1 Group are certified to ISO 27001, which attests to the Information Security Management Systems requirements. ISO 27001 demonstrates that organizations have appropriate data protection and cyber resilience tools.

ISO 27018
A1 Digital and A1 North Macedonia are certified to ISO 27018, which confirms the Information Security Management System requirements.

ISO 45001
The A1 Group has in all its operating countries ISO 45001 certificates, which attests to the Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems requirements. It certifies organizations that are serious about improving employee health and safety, reducing workplace risks, and creating better, safer working conditions.

ISO 37001
A1 Group has implemented ISO 37001 within its operations in A1 Belarus.
This certification validates the organization’s commitment to anti-bribery management systems.
